Reflection

The Art Portfolio 1, we started working on a 3D project. And theme by my future project from three available: Primitivism, Pop Art and Industrial. I decided to chose theme primitivism. On the week 4, I started to make plan and consider which materials I would using in my project. To draw some sketches imagen how it must looks. I like experimentation with different colour and techniques on the paper.

During the week 5, I start to looking for materials such us ceramics and wood and do researching the  famous artist from primitivism theme. I was so inspired by, George Nakashima, Ukrainian designer Victoria Yakusha, Jennifer McCurdy. While the process I found more the famous artist which inspire me like David Nash, Olga Ziemska and Angela Harding, they also helped me to develop my 2D and 3D design.

Then, I started to attended wood shop and ceramic studio in the Vijay Patel building to create my 3D design. The visited workshops was very interesting, I learned a many new processes and techniques. Working with ceramics was very easy,  but all process need careful torching ceramic buss because it is very softy and can broke. But I did this, despite the fact that it is a very long process, but I was pleased with the final result. Working with wood was more difficult, because I use different type of machines, which were quite dangerous. However, I quickly learned how to use them and developed my 3 wood designs. 

I also tried fine art printmaking, specifically lino cutting, but I found challenging. It is very long process, I wasn't satisfied with  finale picture and I consider to change the materials and continue work with foam print materials. But, also it was a valuable experience for me, and I may develop this technique further in my 2D design work. I also found it challenging to artist research and describing their work, but I plan to focus more on writing about details that inspire me.

From the week 6 I started to work with materials ceramic and wood. It was a little challenge for me, because I never before use this materials. But, the week 9, when I saw my finale result it show me how I can work and also develop my skills.

Additionally, this project was very interesting for me, now I know more about the process and how to planed project from idea to create 3D form. If would make the ceramic structure more interesting by adding a matte finish and change structure. I would be change the wood, I chose only one type of wood it will be more easier to work. 

Honestly, I am pleased with final result, they looks natural and modern. Additionally, I developed my Crafts skills.
