The object lesson - development ideas

In this lesson we had to choose object for inspiration and development an idea. I was choose the red stone Heart because is very simple but meaning a lot; love, romantic, gift, passion. The Redstone heart represents life and energy.  These “heart stones” promote healing, balance and a spiritual concept of love, compassion, growth and truth.(Cubi 2018) In on old times, people thought the red stones heart  symbolizes blood, in different cultures red stones have been like rituals and ceremonies protection (Bruce-Mitford, 2009). 

 I write on the paper my first thought- structure, shape, colour and texture. Then I try to draw my object from different angles and thinking about what I can to use this element in my project. At first I thinking about how compare the history, symbolism with modern day. At first I thing it can be small red gift box, the heart shape and with special present inside. 

As a craft designer I thought about creating postcard with red stamps. Each postcard would represent a unique illustration or design of red heart. I imagined using strong cardstock and maybe colourful pans or acrylic and I thought about to add some shimmering foil it make them special. It can be a birthday greeting, wedding, or simple massage. It brings feeling of love and connection with people.
