Land ART- Olga Ziemska
The famous artist Olga Ziemska had the special relationship with nature world and doing incredible sculpture. In Polish, Ziemska means “of the earth.” She uses materials such as wood, sand, stone. Specially effect in her work it is combine aspects human with nature.
She describes her work via artist statement saying: "Returning meaning back to nature. Making the human body a part of the whole, not the whole part. Blending the body in. Showing how easily it can mesh, morph and disappear. The body is nothing without that which surrounds it. This is an ever-changing reflection." (Danny, 2014). Her work so inspire me, she convey simplicity, beauty and feeling of peace, it also connected with my work. Olga also tries to use paints and glues that are for safe for the environment. Her art not only looks beautiful but also helps take care of the planet, it also very important for me too. Ziemska shows how art can harmonize with nature creating eco-piece design work.
Oculus, is located near the Maple Collection. Olga shows two around 10-feet-tall head profiles, which looking at each other. This sculptures create hundreds circle peace of tree with different size sections and have mirrored eyes that reflect the environment around them. This type of wood I would be use in my project, I hope it will be looks very nature.
Her sculpture very inspire me, using natural materials like wood and brunches, combined with her simple captivating designs, really catch my attention. She shows connection between people and nature. It is actually what I would be focusing in my project. Also, I like how she creates harmony between art and environment.
In my project, I use similar natural materials and organic forms. I want to explore themes beauty of nature just like Ziemska does. I hope to create artwork that not only capture attention but also deeper show natural world.
