Artist Research - Jamel Shabazz
Jamel Shabazz very famous African- American photographer. His work about life in New York City. He used camera to connect with people. Shabazz’s photographs are powerful for their intimacy (Esposito, 2022). His showcase include photo which show happy and smiling, Shabazz can catching energy street life to create very incredible work. His photo special, he always found contact with people because before the take a photo he talk with them and after they feel more comfortable.
It picture show a group of young African American children, which smiling and play together. I like this picture because the show children which enjoy each other's company. Children in the photo look really cool, wearing trendy clothes that show the style of the time. This photo very positive. The background of the photo looks like one on simply street.
“For me, having constructive conversations was far more important than the photograph itself,” Shabazz reveals in the new book, City Metro (Galerie Bene Taschen), which collects photographs made on the trains and buses from 1980 through 2018 (Taschen, 2020) A black and white photo to transfer the atmosphere inside a subway train. The dog in this photo caught my attention, he look fanny. I like the graffiti subway walls. As a socially conscious photographer, I strive to create images that show reality, provoke thought, and at the same time contribute to a visual record of time and history (Hame, 2013) He uses digital Photography, and his book to ' Back in the days include photo of New York culture
Eliot Elisofon, he is born in New York City, was the son immigrant. He first became interested in photography and painting when he was a teenager. In 1942 he was a war correspondent and photographer for Life. 'Duchamp Descending a Staircase' is a photo taken by Eliot Elisofon in 1952, inspired by Marcel Duchamp's famous painting. It show a person walking down stairs in cool way.
Elison's Looking at the photo makes you think about time and space. The person on the stairs looks like they're moving gracefully, almost like dancing. It is an interesting look at movement, abstract ideas and creative style of art.
