Reflection: Art Portfolio 2
This semester was different from previous ones because Art Portfolio 2 focused on working independently. The theme was centered around helping the town of Cromwell in Connecticut, which was devastated by fire. My project involved creating a collection of bags using both recycled and non-recycled materials. As a Crafts designer, I was excited to start my new project. I found the techniques and experimentation were easy and interesting. Learning to use the sewing machine was a key skill I developed, as most of my bags were sewn, and I am pleased with my progress in this area. My collection involves using a variety of materials and techniques. I experimentation with beads and satin for the first time, which was a valuable learning skills. I drew inspiration from renowned designers like Lulu Guinness and Anya Hindmarch, whose work greatly influenced my ideas.
